My name is Sam Bernal and I’ve been through it all when it comes to negotiating salary. For the first 3 years of my career, I would always convince myself to avoid even bringing it up. I would be afraid to look greedy or ungrateful. I always just felt “lucky” to have a job. I don’t even want to calculate the loss of potential earnings from those missed opportunities.
But then I finally grew a pair. I decided it was time to get paid what I knew I was worth. So I went into a meeting with my boss ready to ask for what I knew I deserved.
It did not go well. I wasn’t prepared for all of his tough questions, and I didn’t have any evidence or data to back up my claim that I should be paid more. As soon as I saw he wasn’t just going to give me a raise, I shut down.
I felt underappreciated and angry, but more than that I was embarrassed that I wasn’t prepared the way I should have been.
I wasn’t going to let that happen again.
I went out and studied every major article and book on asking for a raise. Some of the advice is great, most of it a waste of time. Through all that research and preparation, I was able to put together the perfect game plan for going into a salary negotiation. Using this knowledge, I was able to negotiate more than $30,000 in raises in a span of 2 years and almost $50,000 in a span of 4 years. It was incredible to see the fruits of my labor. I was getting paid!
After seeing my own amazing results, I decided to help the people I know get massive raises.
My friends couldn’t be more thankful for the results they were seeing, and they kept pushing me to get out there and help more people.
This is when I decided I needed to branch out and help others do the same thing.
I look forward to helping you get your next massive raise
